Welcome to Tally Ho’s call for delegates!
Before nominating yourself, check out the info below. It’ll help you prepare the strongest application.
If you have questions, let us know in the Tally Ho Discord!
Who are delegates?
Delegates are community members who strongly align with Tally Ho’s mission to provide free, open source wallet software for Web3 and the open internet.
Why delegates exist:
Delegates exist because the size of the community will extend far beyond the number of individuals who are able to spend time personally considering every single DAO proposal. Allowing community members to delegate their votes means they can still have a say in the DAO, without needing to be involved in day-to-day governance.
The DAO will be launching soon. When it does, we’ll encourage community members to delegate their votes. As part of that process, community members will be presented with a delegate list. It’ll look something like this:
You will ONLY appear in this list if you reply to this thread with an application. Moderators will begin filtering applications immediately and the community will finalize the delegate list in January.
What delegates do:
Delegates are volunteers! The DAO will vote on sustainable contributor funding after launch. In the meantime, delegates won’t receive token awards, POAPs, NFTs, or dog treats of any kind.
Being a delegate means you’re volunteering for active, ongoing participation in the upcoming DAO—including staying on top of community developments and making governance decisions.
As a delegate, you’ll be voting on governance proposals once the DAO launches and upholding the community’s values of open source, open access, and community ownership.
Tally Ho will use Governor Bravo as its governance framework. It’s used by countless DAOs, including Compound, Uniswap, and Gitcoin. If you’re not familiar with Governor Bravo, definitely check out Compound’s documentation to learn more.
Who should apply:
You only need to apply if you want to appear in the delegate list!
If you’d prefer to vote on your own behalf, or would rather not appear in that list, you don’t need to nominate yourself.
Ready? Okay—time to apply!
To apply, reply to this post using the template below. That’s it!
A moderator will reach out if we need any more info.
Once you’ve applied, it’s time to tell the world! We encourage you to tweet and let your friends and followers know so they lend their support.
Good luck!
